Nachdem ich eine Ölpumpe incl Ölpumpenrad aus dem M30 eingebaut hab, passte natürlich die Ölpumpenkettenlänge nicht mehr, daher mussten neue Abstandsplättchen (0,1mm pro Stück) von BMW geordert werden. Leider gibts die vom M10 nicht mehr, daher mussten es eben auch wieder welche vom M30 sein.
Der Unterschied ist aber die Aussparung für das Ölrohr, die der M30 nicht hat, daher wurde kurzerhand diese Aussparung reingeschliffen. Man beachte auch die wunderschön weissen Chirurgenhandschuhe. Jeder Motorenbauer braucht weisse Chirurgenhandschuhe ;)
I replaced the old oil pump with one from the M30 engine. Therefore i had to take the cog from the M30 too, which has a smaller diameter what resulted in a too loose chain. For that i had to order distance plates from BMW (0,1mm per plate). But these are NLA for the M10, which means i had to take the ones for the M30 too.
The difference however is the cutout for the oil tube, that the M10 has an the M30 doesn't. But easy as that i cut that out and "there i fixed it".
Please notice the white surgeons gloves. Anybody should usw surgeons gloves when working on an engine ;)
